Whether you’re considering IVF, in the midst of a cycle, or have undergone multiple attempts, now is the best time to prioritise your health to potentially increase your chances of starting a family.
While much attention is often placed on the individual undergoing IVF, we recognise the importance of supporting both partners’ overall health. Optimising sperm quality through targeted therapies like acupuncture, phytotherapy, and precision nutrition is essential for successful fertilisation and embryo development during IVF.
Going through IVF can be a daunting and emotional rollercoaster for many couples. That’s why we have designed our treatments to support both your body and mind. As part of your acupuncture sessions, you’ll learn valuable mind-body techniques, such as guided visualisation and conscious breathing, to stimulate the vagus nerve.
Acupuncture treatment recommendations for IVF, IUI, and assisted reproductive technologies are as follows:
Prior to IVF or IUI drug cycle (STIM) | weekly sessions for 4-6 weeks leading up to IVF medication initiation |
During IVF or IUI stimulation cycle | 3 sessions weekly before egg collection, typically on days 3, 6, and 9 of the cycle |
Post egg collection | 1 session within 48 hours post-procedure |
Preparing for frozen embryo transfer | weekly sessions leading up to transfer, ideally once or twice per week |
Day of embryo transfer (fresh or frozen) | 2 sessions scheduled on the transfer day, one before and one after the procedure |
After embryo transfer or IUI | approximately 5 days post-transfer, followed by weekly sessions thereafter |
In the event of a successful pregnancy) | weekly acupuncture is recommended up to week 12 of the pregnancy |
We provide clear recommendations for acupuncture sessions throughout your IVF journey, from preparation to post-transfer support. These guidelines are tailored to each stage of the process, optimising the potential for success while prioritising your comfort and well-being.
